Richmond Mayor Dwight C. Jones dedicates a fountain in honor of the late Alicia Rasin. She was known as Richmond’s Ambassador of Compassion, a victim’s rights advocate. Rasin was honored during a brief ceremony last evening in Jefferson Park, where the “Peace Fountain” highlights her memory. Rasin, who died in October at the age of 62, was well-known in Richmond for decades of community work, hosting vigils for homicide victims, calling for an end to violence and comforting people in their darkest hours of losing loved ones.
