TBR (May 1, 2016)– Richmond, VA – One of the biggest Gospel Weekends on the East Coast is getting set to return to Richmond, VA on Saturday, July 9th and Sunday, July 10th 2016 and it’s ALL FREE to the PUBLIC.
On Saturday July 9th it’s the 4th Annual East Coast Gospel Music Summer Fest, returning to 5th Baptist Church, 1415 West Cary Street, Richmond, VA.
When The Belle and her “B Kore Crew” FIRST created the East Coast Gospel Music Summer Fest in July 2013 they had no idea how the success of the weekend event would touch so many lives, but it did!
The event created a blessed networking opportunity for newcomers in the Gospel community as well as established and industry executives.
This year East Coast Gospel Music Summer Fest 2016 with be returning for its 4th year at 5th Baptist Church, 1415 West Cary Street, kicking off at 10am with a special session on “New Gospel Artist…Is their Message and Music Reaching Your Generation” with special guests Cora Armstrong, Melvin Williams, Tamika Patton and Van Boyd. Following will be C Goss with No Celings “Live” (A millennial biblical conversation with an Urban Understanding).

A special panel has also been put together to address “Traditional Music – Where is it Headed” with special guests Cora Harvey Armstrong, Pastor Marlon Locke, James Johnson, Minister Earl Bynum, Doc Christian, Kenny Taylor, Melvin Williams and facilitator Dr. Bobby Jones.
Just added is Gospel recording artists Melvin Williams. Williams just recently kicked off his “Preserve Traditional Gospel Music” campaign and is also one third of the mega hit group, The William Brothers. Williams campaign kicked off internationally in Russia, Azerbaijian, Turkmenistan and Georgia a few year ago where he conducted master classes on “The History of Gospel Music.”

On Sunday, July 10, 2016, the city of Richmond 60th Festival of the Arts will once again host “The 7th Annual Gospel Music Fest with The Belle” at Dogwood Dell. The annual outdoor event is set to return to a city that has long been known for its mixture of Traditional and Quartet sounds. Now listed as one of the largest outdoor Gospel Concerts on the East Coast, the Dogwood Dell stage in Byrd Park is now set for some of the biggest names in Gospel.
This year’s special guests include Gospel legend Dr. Bobby Jones, Dorothy Norwood, Earnest Pugh, James Johnson, the Virginia Aires, Alexis Spight, Resound, Monica Lisa Stevenson, Patrick Lundy & the Ministers of Music, GI and John Foxx & New Fellowship.
The memorable evening concert under the stars is slated to start at 5:00p.m. Be sure to get there early for a good seat.
