We knew it was coming and for those of you who haven’t yet purchased your very own copy of the new film “Blessed & Cursed,” get ready to make it a movie night with 1230AM WDBZ The Buzz and of course the Gospel Music Channel (GMC).

“Blessed & Cursed,” the movie written and directed by Deitrick Haddon, is all set to make its debut on GMC this coming weekend on October 30th at 7:00PM EST.

A modern twist on the biblical tale of David and Saul, “Blessed & Cursed”  is a story of pain, deceit and triumph that depicts Dwight Hawkins’ (Deitrick Haddon) struggle to realize his God-given purpose. Dwight must choose between a family obligation and pursuing his own dreams of gospel music superstardom.

The new film, which is available on DVD in stores now, features a host of co-stars and familiar faces such as legendary actress Sheryl Lee Ralph and new actress Drew Sidora.

The film will also feature guest appearances by a bunch of additional favorites from both the urban and traditional gospel worlds. Look for budding actress Kierra Sheard (who also recently co-starred in “The Preacher’s Kid” alongside R&B music’s Tank and LeToya Luckett) accompanied by her famous mother and gospel music icon Karen Clark Sheard (of The Clark Sisters).

Deitrick’s wife and gospel sensation Damita Haddon will also make an appearance with Dr. Bobby Jones, J. Moss, Jor’el Quinn of urban gospel trio 21:03, underground gospel sensation Mali Music and another legend, Rance Allen.

Check out the photo gallery below featuring some of the familiar faces in gospel music you’ll see on your television this coming weekend. Invite a few guests over and instead of handing out candies and sweets on Halloween, how about making it an inspirational movie night for the family. We promise you won’t be disappointed.

For those of who you’ve seen the film already or may even own it by now, let us know what you thought and if you’ll be tuning in for its first featured presentation on the GMC.
