Talk about brilliant exclusives in the gospel music industry! For quite some time now, we’ve been hearing everywhere about the wonderful things Verizon Wireless has done as presenting sponsor of the noted How Sweet the Sound choir competition and touring show.
This week, we’re excited to announce that their efforts are growing in cultural relevance like never before. For the first time ever, Verizon presents the How Sweet the Sound Boot Camp, a special two-day workshop scheduled to take place during the 26th Annual Stellar Awards weekend held January 12-15, 2011 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort Hotel in Nashville, TN.
This one-of-a-kind workshop has been specifically designed for local and national music directors, ministers of music and choir members in an effort to help perfect their skills and develop their individual church’s ministry.
Tentatively, the list of topics for the upcoming workshops include The Gifting of Music, Songwriting & Arranging, The Business of Music, The Highest of Praise and other relevant issues to build each participant’s skill sets and more.
The How Sweet the Sound Boot Camp guest clinicians also currently include James “JJ” Hairston (of Youthful Praise), gospel hit-maker Aaron Lindsay, V. Michael McKay, noted worship leader Judith McAllister, James Robinson and Earl Bynum.
Registration details and more information will be available soon and of course, we’ll be the first to bring it straight to each of you. Are any of you music directors, ministers of music or choir members at your local churches? If so, let us know what you think of the news and if you plan on attending by posting on the message board below. What are some things you would like to see or hear discussed at the boot camp? Do you believe this an important resource for ministries everywhere – large or small? Let’s get the discussion started.
