Bounce TV, a new broadcast network geared toward African-American viewers, will debut on Sept. 26, the network announced.

Founded by Martin Luther King III, Andrew Young III, television executives Ryan Glover and Jonathan Katz, and filmmakers Rob Hardy and Will Packer, the channel will go live at noon with a 24-hour, daily programming mix of movies, sports, documentaries and original programming.

“Beginning September 26, our network will deliver free programming for our vastly under-served community and be accessible free, to all homes. We look forward to Bounce TV entertaining African American viewers, and frankly all Americans, for many years to come,” said Ambassador Andrew Young, part of Bounce TV’s founding group and board of directors, along with Martin Luther King III.

Since it was announced in April, Bounce TV has announced distribution agreements covering more than 30% of the country, including stations owned by LIN Broadcasting, Belo Corporation, Raycom Media and Nexstar Broadcasting

Bounce-TV Network will begin airing in Houston, Tx.; Cleveland and Akron, Ohio; Charlotte, N.C.; Cincinnati, Ohio; Indianapolis; Hartford and New Haven, Conn.; Norfolk, Va.; Dayton, Ohio; West Palm Beach, Fla.; Birmingham, Ala.; Memphis, TN.; Louisville, Ky.; and Richmond, Va.
