TBR – Richmond, VA – BGA Entertainment hosted a Pre-Dove Celebration Concert, Saturday April 14th 6pm at Cedar Street Baptist Church, Richmond. VA.  Special guests included, Ty Francis, Nyasia, Da Hype Choir, J. D. Lewis, P Dot, Pastor Wyatt and The Belle.

Long time friends and supporters of G.I. began pouring into the church around 5:30p.m. to make sure their support and love for the group was known as everyone came together to officially congratulate the group on being nominated for a Dove Award.  While the celebration lasted just under two hours, it was truly a celebratory atmosphere with lost of love in the air along with shouts of “Congregations” and “We Love You G.I ” !

A special letter of recognition from Richmond Mayor Dwight Jones was also presented to G.I. along with his autographed picture, as G.I. has become possibly the first group out of Richmond, VA to be nominated for such a prestigious award, The Dove Award.

Once introduced, G.I. performed some of their current hits as well as some of their other Billboard top 30 charting songs.

It was really a fun night. The Belle emceed!

More recently, following the group’s smash hit single “Forever We Will Worship,” GI recently returned with an undeniable masterpiece “There’s Only One Name,” that continues to move up the Gospel Billboard Charts.  

GI, also known as God’s Image, is one of today’s rising Gospel stars. Their new album “The Next Dimension” was released July 19, 2011 and peaked at #15 on Billboard’s Top Gospel Charts! The first single from the album “Forever We Will Worship” debuted at #34 on Billboard’s Gospel Songs Charts and remained in the top 30 for several weeks (peaking at 24). Recent appearances include BET’s Bobby Jones Gospel, the Radio One Lamp Lighter Awards, Gospel Music Fest with The Belle and Tim Reid’s Celebrity Gospel Concert.
