Notorious for his street ministry and the classic gospel music he’s given us for more than 20 years, Pastor John P. Kee continues to stay connected to effective ways of ministering even in the face of tragedy.

The Durham, NC singer, teacher and preacher recently voiced his thoughts on the nationally known story on Trayvon Martin’s unlawful shooting. Kee says the case might actually touch on more than the issues of race that have once again been brought to the world’s attention.

“After hearing about the Trayvon Martin case my heart was saddened because of its senselessness! Many had concluded that it was a simple racial issue when in fact I believe it was also a gun issue!”

Kee, who has worked to keep guns off the streets for years, continued by acknowledging that he and his church family have actually helped remove them in record numbers even more than the local law enforcement.
