Nashville, TN — Multiple award winner, Grammy Award nominee, VaShawn Mitchell, is set to recording live tonight in his hometown of Harvey, IL!
On Sunday, Mitchell was recognized by The Honorable Mayor Eric Kellogg, along with Alderman’s of the City Council and residents of the City of Harvey at a ‘Street Naming Presentation’. Taking place at 14615 South Winchester in Harvey, the street was officially re-named ‘VaShawn Mitchell Avenue.’
Later tonight, Mitchell presents all new music at the special hometown concert, at his alma mater, Thornton High School, for a forthcoming release on EMI Gospel. The album tentatively titled ‘Created4This’ will include Mitchell’s signature brand of praise & worship music. Set to offer songs of empowerment and inspiration, Mitchell said he hopes to “build upon and continue with a sound that started people universally singing and worshipping regardless of denomination or background.” The anticipated live recording will feature special guest appearances by Israel Houghton, Kierra Sheard and more.
