Members of the General Board of The Church of God in Christ (COGIC) have reportedly appointed a new pastor to govern the newly created Tennessee Southwest Jurisdiction in the Church of God in Christ. Pastor William S. Wright of Memphis has become the Bishop-Designee and was approved by the General Assembly during the April Call Annual Business Meeting this past week.
Memphis is also the headquarters of the international Churches of God in Christ, founded in 1907 by the late Bishop Charles Harrison Mason.
