President Obama will meet with top business leaders on the avoidance of the so-called fiscal cliff. The president will hosts  two-dozen or more business, labor and civic at the White House today and Wednesday to talk about putting a halt to going over the fiscal cliff. The White House says the chief executives of major corporations including Ford, IBM, and Wal-Mart will discuss how to control the federal deficit.

At the meetings today and tomorrow, a White House official said the leaders would talk about how best to move the economy forward and identify a balanced approach to reduce the deficit.  A combination of tax increases and government spending cuts is due to take effect in January 2013 unless the President and Congress can agree on a compromise plan.
