Norfolk, VA – On Monday, December 31, 2012, many people will remember where they were and what they were doing as they brought in the new year of 2013.  This is especially true for close to 10,000 in attendance at the New Year’s Eve celebration at the Ted Constance Center on the campus of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA with the church family of The Mount Lebanon Baptist Church and Bishop Kim Brown and First Lady Elder Valerie K. Brown.

The highlight of the evening included more than 1000 people giving their life to Christ just minutes before the stroke of midnight.  With advance technology, those who were accepting Christ responded through their cell phones with the results being displayed on several oversized screens.  Earlier, Bishop Brown prayed for at least one-thousand people to give their life to Christ.  When that happened, the senior pastor of The Mount fell to his knees in tears.

The energy throughout the evening was non-stop with Minister of Music Earl Bynum leading the way along with dancers, singers, Praise & Worship and special guests Gospel singer Cora Armstrong and one of the top Gospel organist in the country Moses Tyson.

One of the highlights of the evening also included several people getting their mortgages paid and car notes paid off.

This was such an amazing night to see so many hungry for the word of God, a pastor who delivered such a powerful word and a ministry that has not become so commercial that the message about Jesus Christ was not lost or compromised!

After church, Bishop Brown said, “It’s time to party!”  Without wasting anytime, thousands joined in doing the “Mount Shuffle” and other praise dances that had many praising the Lord, well into the weeee hours of the morning.

What an amazing year God has in store for us all in 2013!
