Virginia has an election every year which means the peoples’ voice should be heard on issues of healthcare, education, civil rights, justice, jobs and medicare. Every aspect of your life is decided on at the “stroke of a vote”.

Virginia Statewide Primary: There are 2,508 precincts reporting out of 2,534 as a result of 140,000 votes. Feel free to view the unofficial results of the June 11, 2013 primary. The general election is Tuesday, November 5, 2013.

There are two contenders in the Virginia governor’s race for 2013  Democrat Terry McAuliffe and Republican Ken Cuccinelli. Cuccinelli is currently the Attorney General for Virginia and will not seek a second term only to run for governor. Terry McAuliffe is a businessman, entreprenuer and former chairman of the Democratic National Committee.

The Republican candidate for lieutenant governor is Bishop E.W. Jackson and the candidate for Attorney General is State Senator Mark Obenshain.

The Democratic candidate for attorney general is State Senator Mark Herring
