During a bench trial the driver of the police van in which Freddie Gray died has been acquitted.

The judge determined the fate of Caesar Goodson Thursday morning during a bench trial. This is also the Baltimore officer who faced the most serious charges stemming from Freddie Gray’s death.

Gray, who was 25, at the time of his death, suffered a devastating spinal injury and died in April 2015, about a week after he was arrested and placed into a prisoner van that Goodson was driving.

Of the six officers that were arrested in the case, Goodson faced the most serious charges, which included second-degree depraved heart murder.
