Charlotte, N.C.–September 29, 2016–After a 13-year hiatus pastor, producer, songwriter, author, and two-time Stellar Award winning gospel artist, William Becton, returns to encourage listeners with the release of “Sing Unto The Lord,” the four-song EP from his forthcoming ministry-packed third installment ‘Broken Trilogy,’ featuring the powerful, ‘I Yield,’ on WEB Music Group Friday, September 30, 2016.

A fresh new sound of praise while merging familiar old school influences was Becton’s objective while creating the project.

A man who embodies innovation recognized throughout his career for his trailblazing approach to music, Becton does not disappoint.

The intersection of funk meets jazz is where you’ll find Sanctuary.  Becton combines lyrics and vocal arrangements that undeniably invoke the presence of God in a very demonstrative powerful manner. He also reveals his D.C. roots by exposing us to elements of the Go-Go sound that are inherent to that region.

Sing Unto The Lord, the lead single that jumped from #143 to #82, on the BDS Gospel top 200 chart-increasing 61 spots, is a Praise and Worship masterpiece.  A combination of old and new school, the classic songwriting and elaborate orchestration make this a cross-cultural gem. Becton’s ability to mix styles and genres to create new expressions can be experienced in this song.

The melodies and harmonies of the powerful I Yield will pierce the soul with a message that causes one to investigate the condition of the heart. Delivered in a transparent and unassuming manner, the song will lead you directly into the presence of the Lord.

A personal testimony is revealed in the song Thank You where Becton reflects on many of the experiences of his life and his resolve to “get up from where ever you are, lift your hands and tell God thank you.” With a throwback 90’s sound and silky savvy vocals, the song is a refreshing Urban Praise. Both familiar and new, it will have you bobbing your head and waving your hands in Praise simultaneously.

When asked about the feel of the EP, Becton states, “It’s a return to real music, classic song creation, and the pure power of praise.”

In addition to his many talents, Becton is highly experienced in radio and has a profound ear for all things music.  He graced the airwaves with his demanding yet calming voice on the “William Becton Gospel Show” at WPGC, he moved on to ABC’s, “Rejoice Musical Soul Food,” and is currently heard on “Charlotte Praise 100.9.”

A well-versed scholar, teacher, preacher, pastor, songwriter, and author, William Becton is back and better than ever.
