Breonna Taylor

Following months of protests and outrage of no arrests following the murder of Breonna Taylor, the city of Louisville, Kentucky, has reportedly settled a wrongful death lawsuit filed by Breonna’s family.  Taylor was the 26-year-old EMT who was killed by police six months ago.

Preliminary reports state that the agreement was a multimillion dollar settlement which comes after Taylor’s family sued the city after Louisville Metro Police officers broke down the front door of her apartment and fatally shot Taylor. This happened as the police were executing a late-night, “no-knock” warrant in a narcotics investigation that took place on March 13.

An announcement from the mayor of Louisville is expected later today, Tuesday (September 15, 2020) during a joint press conference that will also include Taylor’s family lawyers.
In addition to the payment the city is slated to announce major police reform.
