A new poll from Elon University shows that President Obama and Gov. Mitt Romney are tied in North Carolina. Each candidate received 45 percent of likely voters. Five percent are undecided. The Elon joins a list of polls predicting the the race’s outcome in this state. Other polls have shown the two tied, while others show Romney in the lead.

Nationally, Romney leads Obama but Obama leads in key battleground states such as Ohio.

Early voting in North Carolina ends on Nov. 3. Thus far, early voting in the state has been brisk outpacing voting in 2008.
