The ex-Chicago police detective who shot and killed 22-year-old innocent bystander Rekia Boyd, is seeking to collect disability pay from the city because he says he suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder from the 2012 shooting. Dante Servin, 48, could collect as much as $78,000 or 75 percent of his former $104,000 salary until his police pension kicks in.
The report notes that police officials last month blamed the unavailability of audio in 80 percent of dash cam videos on officer error and “intentional destruction.”
