Reality star Omarosa Manigault, best known as a competitor on TV’s “The Apprentice,” has filed paperwork to run for the LAUSD Board of Education, according to the Los Angeles City Clerk’s office.
Manigault filed paperwork Friday for the District 1 special election, which will be held on June 3.
The winner will serve out the remaining term of Marguerite Poindexter LaMotte, who died in December.
The 40-year-old, who listed her occupation as a “teacher/children advocate,” is one of ten candidates to enter the race.
Manigault gained notoriety on the first season of Donald Trump’s reality show and later returned for two other editions of the program.
She also appeared on nearly two dozen other reality shows.
Manigault was engaged to actor Michael Clarke Duncan prior to his death following complications from a heart attack in September 2012.
