We can all relate to waking up out of bed and felling like a slug in sand. Some days we don’t even bother to get out of bed. Here are a few tips that will help maximize you energy levels throughout the day and eliminate that “blah” feeling which can negatively effect productivity in the workplace.
Don’t Linger in bed, The more you linger the more your brain will think it supposed to stay in bed. Get up, get showered and get dressed. Don’t let your body be in control of your mind. Once your up and about your body will get adjusted to the day that’s ahead of you.
2. Morning Excerse
Getting up in the morning to take a nice jog or bike ride can do wonders for your energy levels during the day. Imagine your body as a bouncing ball. The more push you give it as you throw it to the ground, the higher it bounce will back to the sky. Your body works the same way. Giving it a good push in the morning will turn into more energy later in the day. Work your way up to a mile, once that comes easy, push your body to two or three.
Breakfast should be the first constant of everyday. If you don’t eat breakfast you’re telling your body, “I could care less about you.” Food is the fuel for your body and brain, working without it is like driving a car on ‘E’. A good example of a healthy breakfast might be something simple like a hard boiled egg, an orange, and a bowl of whole grain cereal with low fat milk.
As ridiculous as this sounds, changing your socks during the day will actually boost your energy. A new pair of white socks gives the body a refreshing feel, which will trick the brain into giving you a quick increase of energy. Don’t believe me? Try it.
Flirting is a known act that will make you and those around you happy. Happiness boosts endorphins which will give you energy. Everyone loves a little flirting just don’t go overboard. Keep the flirting to innocent compliments and you should be fine.
